Town/City in Northern Laos. Wonderful place right on the Mekong River. UNESCO World Heritage protected, and with all the temples and French colonial architecture its easy to see why. Waterfalls, zip lines, caves, treks, all sorts of activities to do in the area. Old school way of getting here by slow boat from Thailand is worth doing once in your life. After that fly or try out the new high speed train (which I am yet to do!).
